Team 8-3 Homework

**Topics are listed in the weekly plans at the beginning of the week.  Assignments will be added and adjusted as the week progresses.  Plans are tentative and could change throughout the week.  Do not totally rely on the Team Homework Blog.  The best way for students to stay organized is for them to use their planner everyday.

Science for the WEEK with Mrs. Brown--   

Monday--  Notes were completed on the Solar System and the Milky Way.
Homework:  Solar System quiz tomorrow.  Pages 11-14 in your notes.  Use the homework handed back today also. Please take care of any missing work.

Tuesday--  Solar System Quiz today.  Down on the Moon activity started in class.
Homework:  Take care of the quiz if you were absent.

Wednesday--  Moon characteristic notes started today.  Revolution and rotation time for the moon.  Phases pictures will be drawn and what side of the moon we see will be discussed.
Homework:  Get the notes you need from Mrs. Hanson or see your table partner.

Thursday--  Moon characteristic notes continued.  Catch Up Time.
Homework:  Notes to get caught up on.  Please see Mrs. Hanson for practice on how to do Catch Up Time for the moon.

Friday-- October Constellation of the Month.  
Homework:  Story and information needed to do the new constellation will be on Google Classroom.  Any make up work that is due must be taken care of.


History for the WEEK with Mr. Kaslon--   


Monday--  Students were reminded that the last opportunity to retake Part #2 of the Revolutionary War Test.  Students also turned in their Rev. War Booklet.  For the rest of class we learned about the Articles of Confederation and why they failed.  Students did research on the following website and listed weaknesses.  http://www.history.org/history/teaching/eft/sample_more_perfect/activity1/index.cfm
   
Homework:    The Chapter 5 Vocabulary worksheet is due this Thursday.  Review your objectives. 

Tuesday--  Today we began class by reviewing the reasons the first written plan of government the Articles of Confederation failed.  Next, students read page 154-155 and page 158-161 (stop at Shays Rebellion) and worked on a study guide.  Finally, we reviewed and discussed what was learned.  
Homework:  Review your notes, objectives, and vocabulary to prepare for the quiz on Friday.

Wednesday--  We reviewed the foreign problems America was having after the Revolutionary War.  Next, Students read about Shays Rebellion and answered three questions about the event.  Students then read a primary source a letter from Thomas Jefferson about the rebellion and answered questions with a partner.  Finally, we answered our objective about Shays Rebellion and the significance of the event. 
Homework:  Review your notes, objectives, and vocabulary to prepare for the quiz on Friday.  

Thursday--  First we checked to make sure that all of the Vocabulary worksheet was completed.  Next, students were assigned parts to read for our Constitutional Convention Readers Theater.  Major topics were highlighted after we read about the Constitutional Convention.
Homework:  Review your notes, objectives, and vocabulary to prepare for the quiz tomorrow.

Friday--  Students took the quiz over the Articles of Confederation, Foreign Issues, Domestic Issues, and some of the vocabulary.  After the quiz we began learning about the first major issue the delegates faced at the Constitutional Convention--the Great Compromise.  Students read page 163-164 and took notes.  The following website is a good resource we used to look at the Convention painting:
