8/31/17 Team 8-3 Homework Other items of importance:     Science with Mrs. Brown--    Students filled out the Constellation sheet that parents need to sign when the Summer Triangle is located in the night sky.   Students read the Constellation stories of Cygnus, Lyra and Aquila and then began the Constellations and Asterisms August Constellation WS.                                                                                                 Homework-      Get the Constellation of the Month Parent Information sheet signed and turned in by Aug. 30 and look for the Summer Triangle. History with Mr. Kaslon--     We reviewed the Proclamation of 1763 activity from yesterday.  Students learned how log in to their online textbook today.  For the rest of the period they read p. 98-100 and worked on the 3.5 study guide.                                         Homework--   Students can review all of the objectives we have covered so far this term (3.1-3.6).

8/25/17 Team 8-3 Homework Other items of importance:     Science with Mrs. Brown--   We finished putting together the Planisphere and practiced how to use the planisphere to locate constellations.  We highlighted the unofficial star group we are looking for in August on the star wheel.  Students can begin looking for this asterism this weekend.  I will have the form that students fill out and have signed handed out on Monday.  We added the definintion of asterism to pg. 4 of our notes.  Students looked at a PDF of an August sky map using their Google Classroom.  We discussed the features of this type of sky map.                                                                                                 Homework-     Get the Constellation of the Month Parent Information sheet signed and turned in by Aug. 30. 8/22/17 Team 8-3 Homework Other items of importance: Don't forget to turn in your Student Handbook sheet if you have not done so yet.    Science with Mrs. Brown--                                                                                                     Homework-      History with Mr. Kaslon--     Students learned reasons why Europeans colonized North America and hardships they faced when they arrived.  We read p. 72-73 in the history book and answered a 3 question study guide.  We also watched a 3 minute video on the Jamestown settlement.  For the last 5 minutes of class students started to identify and locate the Original 13 Colonies.  We will finish the map tomorrow.                                       Homework--   Students can always review objectives and assignments from class.  There will be a quiz on Friday over what we learn on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week.                       English with Mrs. Szymanski--     Homework--     Honors

8/18/17 Team 8-3 Homework Other items of importance: Don't forget to turn in your Student Handbook sheet if you have not done so yet.  Science with Mrs. Brown--                                                                                                     Homework-      History with Mr. Kaslon-- Today classroom procedures and expectations were explained along with my homework philosophy.  Students also had an opportunity to see the 8th grade American History curriculum.   Finally, students took a pre-test for information they will be learning in the first 3-4 weeks of school.                                            Homework--    No homework.                      English with Mrs. Szymanski--   Students read notes about what to expect in English this year written by last year's 8th graders. Then we discussed Independent Reading requirements and selected our reading choices, either AR or book projects and signed a reading contract. Homework--    Read! Honors
