History with Mr. Kaslon-- Today classroom procedures and expectations were explained along with my homework philosophy.  Students also had an opportunity to see the 8th grade American History curriculum.   Finally, students took a pre-test for information they will be learning in the first 3-4 weeks of school.               
                       
Homework--   No homework.                   

English with Mrs. Szymanski--  Students read notes about what to expect in English this year written by last year's 8th graders. Then we discussed Independent Reading requirements and selected our reading choices, either AR or book projects and signed a reading contract.

9/21/17 Team 8-3 Homework Other items of importance: Parent-Teacher Conferences next Monday. Join us for "drop-in" times next Monday from 4 - 5:30 pm or sign up for an appointment  here  .    Science with Mrs. Brown--    Today we worked on identifying the characteristics of Red Giant, White Dwarf and Main Sequence stars using the stars luminosity and surface temperature.                                                                                                 Homework-      Finish answering the questions on the Comparing the Sun Activity question sheet.  Be sure to write in complete sentences. History with Mr. Kaslon--     We started by working on the Thomas Paine "Common Sense" assignment for 10 minutes.  For the rest of class we read the Declaration of Independence and talked about our class project on the Declaration of Independence.  Students were assigned 1 or 2 parts to rewrite and draw a picture for.  We will work on this in class for 30 minut

12/11 to 12/15 -- 2017 Team 8-3 Homework **Topics are listed in the weekly plans at the beginning of the week.  Assignments will be added and adjusted as the week progresses.  Plans are tentative and could change throughout the week.  Do not totally rely on the Team Homework Blog.  The best way for students to stay organized is for them to use their planner everyday.      Science for the WEEK with Mrs. Brown--      Monday--   Variables in experimental designs were reviewed with the Helicopter Activity. Homework:  Answer the questions on the Variables worksheet. Tuesday--   Practice identifying variables in experimental designs. Homework:  Finshing the Variables 2 worksheet if you did not get it done in class. Wednesday--   Writing a hypothesis for the testable science questions. Homework:   Finish the Writing a hypothesis worksheet if you did not get it done in class. Thursday--    Quantitative and Qualitative Observations Homework:   Look for the October constellati
