Team 8-3 Homework

**Topics are listed in the weekly plans at the beginning of the week.  Assignments will be added and adjusted as the week progresses.  Plans are tentative and could change throughout the week.  Do not totally rely on the Team Homework Blog.  The best way for students to stay organized is for them to use their planner everyday.

History for the WEEK with Mr. Kaslon--

Monday--  We started the week with a Monday Motivation video about Martin Luther King Jr. and his accomplishments and struggles.  Next, we watched clip 9 of 10 on the Jackson video and learned about the Indian Removal Act.  We read a primary source document from Jackson's State of the Union Address in 1830 and answered questions on a study guide.

Homework:    Students were encouraged to begin or continue working on their Andrew Jackson mini-project.  Students will be given about 30 minutes to work on the project tomorrow in class.  The project is due this Thursday at the beginning of class.

Tuesday--  We read our second primary source on the Indian Removal Act and finished answering the last three questions on the study guide.  Then we watched the last 7 minutes of the Jackson video.  Students were then given the last 30 minutes of class to work on their Jackson mini-project.

Homework:  Students must complete their Jackson project by the beginning of class on Thursday.

Wednesday--  We created a timeline with facts and pictures from the beginning of the school year up to where we are at now in class.  The last 10 minutes we watched a video on John Quincy Adams presidency.

Homework:  The Jackson project is due tomorrow at the beginning of class.

Thursday--  I collected the Andrew Jackson project at the beginning of class.  We reviewed the History timeline we created yesterday and reflected on where we have been and where we are headed.  For the rest of class we watched a 10 minute video on James Monroe's presidency and learned about the Monroe Doctrine.

Homework:  No homework.

Friday--  Students experienced what it would have been like on the Trail of Tears.  The classroom was moved outside and students went on a historical journey and looked through the eyes of the Cherokee.

Homework:  No homework.
