Science with Mrs. Brown- The Moon Watch project was introduced today. Check your January/February calendar handed out in class to see if you go out tonight at 9:00 PM to view the moon's phase, direction in the sky and elevation in the sky. Bring this information to class tomorrow to share with your classmates. Set an alarm on a phone, clock or stove timer so you go out at the correct time. Paper was handed out for the for examples to use in the Importance of Elements poster project.
Homework- Work on ideas for categories and elements that can go in each category for the poster on Element Uses that is due on Friday. The January constellation is due on Feb. 1st.

History with Mr. Kaslon- Today we reviewed what we learned yesterday about Martin Luther King Jr. For the rest of class we began learning about Manifest Destiny and did a preview activity that was completed and collected in class. Students then began reading and working on a study guide that focused on the acquisition of Louisiana and Florida.
Homework -Read 15.1-15.3 and complete the study guide by Thursday this week.

English with Mrs. Szymanski - Students scored sample essays using the Nebraska Scoring Guide for Descriptive Writing to get familiar with the state expectations for the writing assessment. They also scored their own practice assessments from last week. Finally, we learned a revision and editing strategy called "WXYZ."
HOMEWORK: Read for AR--35 days until points are due.

Pre-Algebra with Ms. Klein: We discussed the quiz from last week to review rates, ratios, proportions and Dimensional Analysis. We introduced indirect measurement.
HOMEWORK: None.

Algebra with Ms. Klein:We graphed inequalities. All rules of inequalities apply. If you divide or multiply with a negative number, you must change the direction of the symbol.
HOMEWORK: Page 384 #10-24 evens.
